Who: The Cheshire Cat and whoever comes across him
What: Cheshire Cat has appeared, as he is wont to do. He's even fishing!
Where: Jabberwock Island, beach
Warnings: Cheshire is being Cheshire, and thus cryptic and mindfucky

[ Some time after they open the music venue, beach house and the ranch, Cheshire can be found on the beach. Sort of. He's waded into the water, and is fishing with his paws. Sitting patiently, he seems to be deep in concentration. ]

[Oh great. His least favourite cat. Zhang Liao stops in his tracks the instant he sees those triangular purple flaps from a distance. Maybe he should come back later to check the beach...that sounds like a good idea. He turns around and begins to head back the way he came.]

[ Don't think he didn't see you, Liao. The cat is going to nab a very orange and peach fish, almost like it's wearing clothes of some sort, before running after him. ]

What's the hurry, Alice? Beach is plenty open. Good fishin' going on right now, too!

[He's not sure what's more offensive to his eyes. The very orange and peach fish, or this sly, smug creature. He narrows his eyes at Chesire.]

Why do you call me Alice? [A change in topic, a diversion from the original question. But Chesire probably knows what the answer to his question would've been anyway, Zhang Liao's been pretty clear about his dislike of the cat, from the tension in his shoulders and the frosty look he's giving the cat.

There's nothing honourable about whisking people away with magic. The cat doesn't deserve any politeness.]

[ He'll raise the fish up and it disappears under his hood in a slurp. He takes his time answering, swallowing the thing whole. Then, he grins. ]

Why not ask the others? They might know. But I'll give ya a hint. Alice, Cheshire Cat, White Rabbit, Jabberwock... They're all connected.

[ And then his eye will narrow. Now comes the fun part. ]

...In fact, why not ask that one Alice about it? The one with the emotive hair? He'd probably know.

[...of course it wouldn't give a clear answer. The cat is as evasive as the rabbit. Still, at least there's a hint there. Not that those words means anything to him, it's not like 3rd century China had anything close to resembling Alice in Wonderland, but at least it's something.]

...I will consider your advice. [There doesn't seem to be any issue in asking that young man about these strange terms.]

I have a question now. ...Ya sure you can trust anyone here?

[ A good question, really. Gotta sow those seeds of discord. ]

I see no reason to withhold my cooperation with these people.

[Darn seeds, getting everywhere go awwwaaaay.]

But how do ya know... One them might not be workin' with us?

[ People lie. It's easy to do so. And they always, always hide something. ]

I do not. And should any of them turn out to be a traitor, they will be dealt with accordingly. But until then, there is no need for such measures. Your attempts to sow dischord are unwelcome, cat.

Hey, not tryin' to sow discord. It's just not fun to watch if someone's out to stab ya in the back and you don't have any warning. No way to see it coming means you're less likely to stop it, ya know?

[ But he'll snicker again. ]

Just as that Alice, though, and maybe you'll see what I mean. But I don't really lie without reason, Alice.

Then you've said your piece.

[Stoic like a mountain, Liao's a hard one to shake when he's convicted on a stance. He's not unshakeable though; it's just that he's on guard against everything the cat says. Of course there's logic to what Chesire's telling him, and he's not so stupid to ignore the possibility of a mole.

But so far there's nothing to suggest that a mole exists. And if the mole strikes, then Zhang Liao will simply take care of them there and then. He's a simple person, in that sense.]
