Who: The Cheshire Cat and whoever comes across him
What: Cheshire Cat has appeared, as he is wont to do. He's even fishing!
Where: Jabberwock Island, beach
Warnings: Cheshire is being Cheshire, and thus cryptic and mindfucky

[ Some time after they open the music venue, beach house and the ranch, Cheshire can be found on the beach. Sort of. He's waded into the water, and is fishing with his paws. Sitting patiently, he seems to be deep in concentration. ]

You know why. It's the same as it's always been. We'll clean up when everything's set.

[ "We." Because of course it'll be both of them. ]

I'm just followin' orders. I don't pick anything.

[ ... His frown deepens. ]

... This is too risky. I'm tired of following His rules. I feel like He's getting out of line...

[ ... A pause. ]

And what am I to do with that other one? When they stumble upon him?

Give it a special lock. You're good at that.

[ He'll give up for now, coming to sit across from the Rabbit with his tail twitching. ]

If you're so worried, you should do somethin' for once.

... Fine. But I have concerns. If anything should wake him...

[ ... He doesn't want to dwell on this. It'd be bad. ]

... No. He told me a long time ago what was in my better interests. I am doing something. ... Besides which, you know we both have our own rules. If I'm to guide them, someone has to wait back there, in case someone is idiotic enough to do something extreme or obtuse.

... Although seeing all this despair in the air, I suppose, is... ironic.

[ ... Yes, "ironic"... ]

[ He'll snicker. ]

But it'll be fine. It always is.

[ He scoffs. ]

That it became how it did... it was entirely the result I expected prior to this. We don't have a choice, besides. ... I suppose we're lucky to have gotten another real Alice.

It'll all work out. It always does, after all. This just makes it more fun!

[ He'll hold up a claw like it's a finger. It's odd, how his body appears to work. ]

[ His tone is practically deadpan, but... beneath the many layers of blank expressions, it almost sounds like he's... amused. ]

They're already frightened. But hey, don't lie, you like it, too! Anything you haven't experienced... Needs to be savored, right?

[ He's not stupid. He can decipher what the Rabbit feels better than anyone. ]

... I don't really agree.

[ Of course he doesn't. But he won't confirm or deny the Cat's words. He just... wants to get this over with, and get his keys back. ]

Say that again and I might have to rip off the rest of your face, though. I'm not like you. In fact, you and I are nothing alike. You're filthy. You'll probably contract some kind of... illness, or fleas, or something.

You know that's not possible. Not as we are now, Rabbit.

[ He'll grin, wanting nothing more than to poke at Rabbit's exposed nerves like a child. ]

[ He slowly stands.

His singular ear twitches. He opens his mouth--it's funny, the entire time he'd talked to every single Alice, he'd never opened his mouth very wide, even when yawning in tedium. Slightly sharp teeth are barred. They're much smaller than the Cat's, of course. ]

... Do not, Cat.

[ He'll dart up, being sure to be well out of reach. ]

Not doin' anything, don't worry! Wouldn't be fun if everything was out in the open so fast.

[ He reaches toward his back pocket, but--stops. His hands fall to his sides. He sighs. Pointless. ]

[ The Cat snickers, then returns to his fishing. ]

[Well that was a charming conversation. Somewhere in the beach foliage, there's been a little skritch-skritching of pencil on paper, far enough away and hidden well enough that neither of the duo could hear it. Lalli has absolutely no idea what happened there, but it seems important... and now that he's actually invested in beating this game, he doesn't want to forget something important again. So he wrote it all down.]

[What a good scout.]

[Sasuke is similarly Around, though there's no note taking here. All he's got is his brain for memorization, and that's what he'll use.]
