Where: Hinata's heart, Jabberwock Island. More specifically, the beach.

[ This is a good plan. He's decided to have a go at coming back to Jabberwock. People need food and they need to relax, too. It's perfect and not Despair worthy at all. Besides, if it's only going to get worse from here, they might as well do some planning, get to know each other a little better instead of having the Heart tell them everything they need to know and other such things.

It seems like Hinata's worked pretty hard to set this up, having grabbed some tables and chairs from the supermarket. There's various food such as pizza, chicken, what have you.

And Hinata every now and again cutting his hair to get it out of his eyes because WHY THIS LIFE.

Look, you guys need to have some fun?? This is how he dealt with Murders, so why not use this to deal with Hearts, too? ]

[The way he squints at Ken implies that he's trying to decide whether to trust him or not, and is weighing that against his natural disinclination to try new things. But eventually he picks up the pizza and takes an experimental bite. It's not hot enough to burn his mouth anymore, so that's a plus, at least.]

Weird. [He talks with his mouth full. But apparently it's not bad-weird, because he keeps eating it.]

This is a thing you have a lot?

Not a lot, since it can get pretty expensive... but every so often, yeah.

[Lalli eats a bit more, taking very small bites. Contemplatively. Then he rolls on his side, elbow propping himself up against the sand, and looks at Ken like he can't believe what's even happening.]

...It's not bad.

Yeah. You can put lots of different toppings on it. They don't have this where you're from then, I'm guessing.

[He might be teasing. Just a little bit.]

...No. [The recipe is probably lost to time, and also to some cookbooks that are so deep in infected territory that no one could even dream of going near them.]

What other stuff do you have?

[He assumes that Ken knows all about what is available to people in Lalli's time, because he's Lalli.]

Other stuff... we have sandwiches and soda and chips and all kinds of mochi. .. I like daifuku a lot.

[These are all things that he doesn't know anything about, and it shows on his face. He just picks the word that sounds kind of normal.]

[He picks through the table and picks up some... sure. Kusamochi.]

Here. Try some.

[Lalli squints at the confection distrustfully. But Ken has never lied to him before (to his knowledge), and is also one of the few people in this godsforsaken place that Lalli will tolerate, so he takes the mochi and squeezes it experimentally.]

[His face scrunches up in disgust. ...After a bit of deliberation, he takes a bite into it anyway.]

[It's like nothing he's ever had before, to be certain. Whether he likes it or not... he's not sure.]

What's this made of?

It's... rice flour, I think? I've never actually made it. ... I've... um. Stolen a few from bakeries before, though.

[Lalli nods, apparently in acceptance. Ken's not the only one who's stolen extra baked goods in his lifetime. Even though he was yelled at for it afterwards, by... someone...]

[Either way, he continues to eat the mochi. When it's all gone, he gets up without a word and goes to seek more.]
