Sebastian wakes up in the hot sun on the sand, and for a moment he wonders if he's back in Ankh's heart. But there were no docks there, and this beach is very familiar. There's a staff next to him, and he picks it up without thinking. As he wanders closer to the docks, it's strange how quickly it becomes overcast and then starts to rain... it's much nicer than the beating sun, though.

Standing at the edge of the docks, he wonders where the others are. He wonders if he's back home for real, even though he knows it's unlikely. However, it's the first chance he's had to be alone for a while... hard to tell how long. As he stands there, he begins to realize something is different. Holding out a hand - focusing for a second - jelly begins to drip down into the water.

Well, that's new.

[It's hot. The urge to dive into the water nearly overwhelms Qilby the minute the sun hits his pale skin; he knows he's going to have a hell of a sunburn when he's done with this world. Damn his penchant for long sleeves, and damn the giant fluffy hat.]

[But he realizes something's different when he pulls himself to his feet; there's a sense of something new there, something filled in that's been missing. He racks his brain to find that it's not his missing memories; instead, it's an ability. A few of them, perhaps?]

[You might find him at first teleporting from end to end of the beach, upon ledges and hills, clearly relishing his new ability - or is it an old ability that he's suddenly regained? It doesn't seem like he's having much trouble with the disorientation, if he feels any at all. With how at ease he seems, an outsider might swear he's used to it. (He's an Eliatrope; they use portals all the time. He's definitely used to it.)]

[When that gets old - admittedly, about after two minutes - he and his giant astral hand will go forth and try to find some clues.]

'This behavior is unprecedented'... Well, no wonder nobody wants to open their doors. [A little laugh.]

[He has to laugh at the everyone will be grateful, too. It's been so long since anyone's ever been grateful for him that the thought of it is funny.]

[ Several abnormal bumps below the water's surface cue Sebastian into the fact that something is enjoying the jelly that he dripped into the water down there.

Something... large...

... And green... ]

[Otoha lifts himself from the sand, brushing himself off. The water gets no real notice - swimming isn't something he's good at, after all - and instead heads up towards the town. Towns are closer to cities, after all.]

[... But it quickly becomes apparent that there's no one here. Everywhere is locked, and the only things that look immediately helpful to him are the signs that talk about a motorcycle - he'll have to look for it - and the sign on the bulletin board.]

[Hm... Otoha glances at the doors to the general store and tries kicking them, and then slashing them. Maybe he can break the glass somehow.]

[ Maybe she shouldn't check out what that mysterious creature is. But you know what they say - curiosity killed the cat; might as well peek into the water and figure it out!

What exactly is this creature in the water? ]

This looks like it's going to be a rather annoying Heart.

[ It's such a pain in the ass, if she's to be honest. While she can swim just fine, extraneous activities just aren't her thing. Not that it will break her. She doesn't care. The town is probably a better bet, but there's nobody here. Essentially, it's a ghost town.

But she might as well peek through the house windows if she can. Is there anything she can see or is it even possible..? She'll be around and about, but not remotely helpful. ]

[ If she gets close enough to take a look, she'll immediately regret her decision: the creature leaps out of the water, revealing itself to be a four foot fish, at least, if not larger. It is emerald in color and seems to have decided her face would make an excellent target for its tail to smack should she not move out of the way fast enough.

Either way, whether Rei does or does not, it ends up back in the water and inevitably swims away, the encounter as fleeting as any usual fishman's tale about such a legendary fish could ever be. ]

[ There is very little of interest viewable inside the houses. Most of the windows are too dulled inside to see into, and those you can see inside show no signs of life at first viewing, although if one stares for long enough, they could swear they saw one or two people moving out of the corner of their eyes once in awhile.

One area in particular, you could swear you saw a girl with purple hair playing with spirit board with some other figure that cannot be clearly made out... but if you look again, she and the other figure appear to be gone, only the spirit board remaining. ]

[Qilby sees a fish jumping up - an interesting fish - and decides he has to teleport there immediately. Whether Rei notices him or not, once the fish plops back into the water, he quips gently:]

Should we try to catch it, you think? [ONLY... HALF-JOKING......]

[ Otoha will find himself propelled backwards at the first hit. Given the mention of monsters, it seems like they were smart enough to hire someone so that said monsters can't break in. ]

[Well fine. Screw you too, door. He'll just try to get up on the roof and see if he can get in from there. Hopefully he's still good at climbing and jumping.]

[Shit, let's be Santa.]

Do you think we'll get something out of it if we do? Because if so, I won't stop you.

A spirit board, huh. . . I wonder if we can use this to talk to people.

[ Let's try putting a small pebble on top of the board to utilize it properly. ]

Can anybody hear me?

[Sebastian goes up to the sign, since it's really clear that the door is locked.]

Monsters, huh... Never heard of them coming out of the mines before.

[So maybe his joking about shadows in the water wasn't entirely false, though this was less a shadow and more green. He wonders what'd happen if he created more jelly for what is... probably... a fish.]

It really hasn't happened before, as far as I know.

[He's not sure what the laugh is at. Probably evil wizard things he doesn't know about.]

[ The planchette begins spelling something out, indeed, but not what she might expect. ]

Mines - First Area and just outside

[He knows that house, though the colors are strangely bright here. The telescope outside that wasn't his, the garage where he kept his motorcycle. He tries to open the door, but it's locked like all the other doors in town. Figures.

Entering the mines, he spots a "MOTORCYCLE FOR SALE" sign and his eyes narrow. He's the only one in this town with a motorcycle, and he's definitely not selling it. He starts gathering the signs as he goes, thinking he'll dump them all somewhere. Too bad he didn't learn Fireball by coming here.]

Mines - Second Area (Dark)

[As they descend further, it suddenly becomes totally dark and bereft of torches. There are squeaking noises and rustling sounds in the dark, but it's impossible to see what's causing them. It's harder to talk in a normal voice, since this place feels like you ought to whisper.]

Maybe we should make a torch.

Mines - Third Area (Ice)

[It's startlingly bright after coming through the darkness for what seems like so long. When his eyes adjust, he sees the new area clearly and... it's beautiful. He wonders if this is where the frozen tears originate from. Of course, there will be monsters here too... but he wouldn't mind staying in this area for longer than the others.]

[ He will get only a short ways down the chimney before finding it firmly blocked. His only choice will be to climb back out. ]

[ Well, if he created more jelly for what is definitely, certainly a fish, the VERY LARGE, VERY GREEN fish would eat more jelly and continue swimming around there to be potentially catchable.

If he did that, that is. ]

Mines - Final Area (Inferno)

[frozentear]

[It's even hotter down here than it was in the beating sun outside. It's positively awful.]

Let's get through here so we can leave.

[frozentear]

[He stands up, and keeps making more jelly. And then he creates a trail of jelly leading back towards the shallower water.]

I haven't gone very far into the mines. From what I know, the levels near the surface aren't that bad. The further you go the more dangerous it gets.
