Sebastian wakes up in the hot sun on the sand, and for a moment he wonders if he's back in Ankh's heart. But there were no docks there, and this beach is very familiar. There's a staff next to him, and he picks it up without thinking. As he wanders closer to the docks, it's strange how quickly it becomes overcast and then starts to rain... it's much nicer than the beating sun, though.

Standing at the edge of the docks, he wonders where the others are. He wonders if he's back home for real, even though he knows it's unlikely. However, it's the first chance he's had to be alone for a while... hard to tell how long. As he stands there, he begins to realize something is different. Holding out a hand - focusing for a second - jelly begins to drip down into the water.

Well, that's new.

[Otoha lifts himself from the sand, brushing himself off. The water gets no real notice - swimming isn't something he's good at, after all - and instead heads up towards the town. Towns are closer to cities, after all.]

[... But it quickly becomes apparent that there's no one here. Everywhere is locked, and the only things that look immediately helpful to him are the signs that talk about a motorcycle - he'll have to look for it - and the sign on the bulletin board.]

[Hm... Otoha glances at the doors to the general store and tries kicking them, and then slashing them. Maybe he can break the glass somehow.]

[ Otoha will find himself propelled backwards at the first hit. Given the mention of monsters, it seems like they were smart enough to hire someone so that said monsters can't break in. ]

[Well fine. Screw you too, door. He'll just try to get up on the roof and see if he can get in from there. Hopefully he's still good at climbing and jumping.]

[Shit, let's be Santa.]

[ He will get only a short ways down the chimney before finding it firmly blocked. His only choice will be to climb back out. ]

[Dammit. Climbing back out. He starts climbing down the side of the house, looking around to head towards one of the residential houses. Gonna try peering through to see if he can find a spot that the curtains don't cover.]

[ He does, but it's not overly interesting. A typical house (though it is really more of a trailer) with typical house-like things inside. It is mostly boarded up, but there are gaps that can be peered through that show a few bookcases and a table where a few people might sit. No one appears to be inside. ]

[Moving on to the next one. Maybe there's someone inside.]

[ There is not. There is no one in any of the houses, if he continues checking all of them. ]

[Ugh. He'll just wander around until he finds someone, then. Fuck it. Fuck all you stupid houses. He is not good at puzzles. Heading towards the mine, vaguely.]

[Sebastian goes up to the sign, since it's really clear that the door is locked.]

Monsters, huh... Never heard of them coming out of the mines before.

How bad are they?

[It'd be good to know what he'd be facing, at least...]

I haven't gone very far into the mines. From what I know, the levels near the surface aren't that bad. The further you go the more dangerous it gets.

... Hm. Sounds like we'll have to go through them to find our way out. That's my guess, at least.

It'd make sense, especially if... Did you get new powers here too?

[bakegarasu]

I... don't know? Maybe. How would I check?

[frozentear]

[He shrugs, holds out a hand and makes jelly drip onto the ground.]

Try doing something like that. I just kind of knew I could.

[He holds his hand out and... a column of fire shoots down from the sky.]

... Uh.

[He steps back, startled. Well, that was interesting.]

That could come in handy.

If they're in the mines, though, it might be a problem. I don't know if it'll work with a roof overhead.

[He glances in the direction of the mines.]

Anything you need from this place before we go in?

Even if I thought there was... We probably couldn't get it with the doors all locked.
